Today, we took a look at the concept of cloud computing and used Google Docs - a Web-based service that allows us to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and forms. With Google Docs we can share our documents with others for peer-editing and collaborate on the same document in "real-time." During class a roster was created in Google Docs that contains each student's name, email address, and personal blog URL. Link to Class Roster. The best thing about Google Docs? We can access it from any computer that has an Internet connection!
Have you ever worked with Google Docs before? If so, how? Did you learn anything new today that you can see yourself using in your other classes? Please explain.
I have never worked with Google Docs before. I never even knew it existed. I learned that you can have multiple people work on this so I may use that if I have to work on a presentation or a collaborative essay.
ReplyDeleteI used Google Docs in Online Experience. We used it to write a story about thanksgiving as a class. I think google docs will be useful for creating surveys to share, which would be an intresting thing to show to a class.
ReplyDeleteI have used Google Docs once before in my Online A class. We used a shared excel doc to post blog links. I learned that I can share my docs with my friends so we could work on group reports together. I could see myself using it in a class such as English or History.
ReplyDeleteI have never worked on Google Docs before, this was the first time I have even heard of it. I learned that i can access my document from an computer in the world and that more than one person can work on the same piece nat the same time. It will be useful for writing essays if you start it at school and have to finish it at home.

ReplyDeleteI have never worked with google docs before. I didn't know google even made anything more than web search, images, or e-mails. I always used word. So I'm hopiong this will be easier and I can use it in the future.

ReplyDeleteI think the best thing about google doc is that it is real time! I have yet to work with google docs. I learned how to share the doc online, and yes i will use this in other classes, when we have group projects.
